Olá, I’m Barbara — crafting digital products and visual stories.
I’m a designer and aspiring artist based in Rio de Janeiro, where I live with my husband and our dog. While design is my career, art is my lifelong passion—and I see the two as deeply connected. Drawing sharpens my eye for detail, creativity, and expression —qualities that I bring to my design practice.
I come from a diverse background: I first studied Social Sciences, later graduated in Marketing, and spent five years living in three different countries before returning to Rio. These experiences gave me a broad perspective, cultural adaptability, and curiosity that continue to shape how I work and connect with people.
Since graduating from Designlab’s UX Bootcamp in 2022, I’ve worked primarily as a freelance designer, collaborating directly with clients and developers. This experience taught me how to lead projects end-to-end, adapt quickly, and build practical solutions even without the structure of a large team. Some highlights of my work include:

Designing and helping develop Spott HR, an HR recruitment app, where I was involved from early research through UI implementation.

Contributing to projects with Swan and redesigning the Rio International Film Festival website: exploring diverse design challenges across fintech and cultural events.
I’m especially drawn to UI design and design systems—I love creating structure that balances functionality and aesthetics, and makes products scalable and consistent. While I haven’t yet worked on a massive enterprise system, I’ve designed smaller-scale systems from scratch and understand how they support both teams and users.
Beyond design, I’m an artist at heart. I love drawing and connecting with other creatives, and I find joy in everyday life—spending time with friends and family, sketching outdoors, getting lost in books, or solving crosswords. I also like to stay updated with world news and politics and enjoy discussing current events. And when I need to unwind, nothing beats binge-watching a good series while eating pizza.
